Xiaomi's Humanoid Robot 'CyberOne' Can Sense Human Emotions | How to Get This Machine

CyberOne, a humanoid robot, was unveiled by Chinese tech giant Xiaomi during the 'Lei Jun Speech' event. This marks China's first humanoid robot after the robotic dog CyberDog made its debut last year.

CyberOne, a humanoid robot, was unveiled by Chinese tech giant Xiaomi. After the business unveiled a robot dog, the CyberDog, in August 2021, this is China's first humanoid robot. The robot is 1.77 meters tall and weighs 52 kg, which is relatively big compared to other humanoid robots.

Humanoid Robot With High Emotional Quotient

Lei Jun, the CEO of Xiaomi, delivered a speech to the world in which he discussed the various innovations that his firm has contributed to society, such as the autonomous vehicle, the revolutionary foldable smartphone, and the CyberOne humanoid robot.

The CEO was seen on stage with the humanoid robot, and it gave him a flower. The CyberOne demonstrated a few maneuvers and took a selfie with Jun afterward, as reported first by Business Insider.

According to Xiaomi, the CyberOne is equipped with cutting-edge arms and legs that enable bipedal movements and posture stability. The company also said that the humanoid robot has highly developed vision abilities and can recognize human emotions thanks to its high emotional quotient.

CyberOne can hear and see in three dimensions because of its two microphones and two cameras. It can also recognize 45 different emotions using microphones to evaluate human speech expressions better.

This humanoid robot is 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs 52 kilograms (177 cm). It can also walk at a pace of 3.6 km/h while holding onto items.

How Much Will It Cost?

CyberOne is still in its development phase, so it might take more time before Xiaomi officially introduces this robot to the market.

CyberOne units might cost anything from CNY 600,000 to CNY 700,000 (roughly $89,000 to $103,000). If the business wants to build it on a huge scale, the price will need to be drastically reduced, according to BusinessInsider.

According to the CEO of Xiaomi, there is still much work to be done on the autonomous humanoid robot's development as an assistant in the future. But it resembles the Tesla Optimus in appearance, from its white body to its strikingly identical black face.

But the Tesla Optimus did not exhibit speech or mobility during Elon Musk's initial introduction of it, unlike what CyberOne has demonstrated recently.

Despite the spectacular showcase that these robots showcased, there is no information on when the Tesla Optimus will be available to the general public, and the same is true for the Xiaomi CyberOne.
