Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 New 10W Charger Gets Wearable to 100% in a Little Over an Hour

The Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 has reportedly upgraded its charging for the small wearable. With the new 10W charger, the wearable can reach 100% in a little over an hour.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 Could Improve Battery Charging Capabilities

According to the story by Slash Gear, despite Apple owning the majority of the smartwatch market, Samsung is actually in second place. The previous Galaxy Watch 4 changed the playing field as it first introduced Google's very own Wear OS.

This made Samsung the largest Wear OS vendor. The Galaxy Watch 5 has been showing up on multiple leaks and could set a standard for the "non-luxury Wear OS smartwatches."

New Smartwatch Could Reach 45% in Just 30 Minutes

The latest leaks raise the bar even higher as the smartwatch could come with one of the most popular charging times on the market. As per SnoopyTech, a tipster on Twitter, the upcoming Galaxy Watch 5 series will be capable of charging all the way up to 100% in just a little over an hour.

The Galaxy Watch 5 series can reach up to 45% in just 30 minutes of charging, but due to charging times slowing down as the battery percentage gets higher, users might have to wait for a little over an hour for the device to be fully charged.

Samsung to Allegedly Switch to More Efficient and Faster USB-C Connection

This speed, however, is still very fast, especially when compared to other smartwatches on the market. The alleged faster-charging speeds are thanks to two different anticipated changes. One of them is the 10W charger being used instead of the 5W charger that has been offered by Samsung for quite a while.

There could also be an alleged switch by Samsung to using a more efficient and a faster USB-C connection. This is something that is reportedly quite rare, especially when it comes to smartphones.

Galaxy Watch 5 Pro to Carry a 572 mAh Battery

This would potentially mean that users will be able to charge their Galaxy Watch 5 directly from the phone without users needing to utilize the Wireless Powershare feature, which is reportedly slower.

One of the most important details revealed in the leak notes that the Galaxy Watch 5 is expected to have a much larger battery as well. An example of this is the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro which is expected to carry a 572 mAh battery.
