The Tesla Destination Charging network is now being upgraded by the giant automaker.
With the arrival of the paid charging enhancement, consumers can now have more charging location options when going on long rides.
As of writing, the EV developer has two charging networks. These are the Supercharger and Destination Charging networks.
These two are different from each other. The Tesla Supercharger consists of DC-fast charging stations, while the Destination Charger includes the Tesla Wall Connector.
Tesla Destination Charging Network's Paid Charging Being Rolled Out!
According to Electrek's latest report, Tesla has already updated its Commercial Registration for Wall Connectors form to include the provision for paid charging.
This means that hotels and other businesses offering the Tesla Destination Charging service can now charge their customers.
"Tesla Commercial Services can be enabled on Gen3 Tesla Wall Connectors that are connected to either Wi-Fi or Cellular and have a signed Services Agreement with Tesla," said the automaker.
However, restaurants, hotels, and other establishments that want to set their Tesla Destination prices need to have the advanced Gen 3 Tesla Wall Connector.
On the other hand, they are also required to own six or more EV charging connectors before setting the price.
Why is This a Big Deal?
Teslarati reported that enabling Tesla Destination Charging network's paid charging will lead to a massive expansion.
Thanks to this enhancement, hotels and other establishments can also serve as charging stations for Tesla and non-Tesla EV owners, allowing them to have more charging options.
Aside from consumers, businesses will also be able to earn extra income if they install more than six Gen 3 Tesla Wall Connectors.
On the other hand, many individuals will be encouraged to start their own Tesla EV charging businesses. Even Target, Walmart, and other supermarkets can have their own.
Although Tesla hasn't tested the latest Destination Charging network upgrade, it still excites many EV fans.
Meanwhile, the Tesla Mobile Connector finally returns after it was ditched by the giant EV maker.
Previously, Tesla Semi Trucks and other similar EVs are expected to receive more than $40,000 incentives.
