Spotify will soon make the play and shuffle buttons exclusively available for Premium subscribers, according to the latest report. As of writing, the music streaming platform also allows the use of the said feature for non-paying users.
Play and Shuffle Buttons For Spotify Premium Only
In the next few weeks, Spotify is expected to launch an exclusive update intended for Premium subscribers. This time, the Swedish music streaming giant will make the play and shuffle buttons exclusive for paying users.
Removing it from Spotify Free account holders won't make a huge difference at all, but it will give the Premium users a noticeable advantage in streaming. This feature will apply to those who usually listen to playlists on the app.
According to XDA Developers, "Someone Like You" singer Adele has previously called out the shuffle experience on the platform. Later, Spotify appeared to have listened to the artist since the default album shuffle was no longer working.
Over the past years, Spotify has been receiving mixed feedback from users regarding it. Some have been venting out that they could not play the songs in proper order, per Macrumors.
"This new change will allow you to choose the mode you prefer at the top of playlists and albums and listen the way you want to. Whether you love the joy of the unexpected with Shuffle mode, or prefer listening to tunes in order by simply pressing Play, Spotify has you covered," the company wrote in a blog post.

Spotify Users Growth
Speaking of Spotify users, the platform saw a lot of improvements in the past year. According to XDA Developers, the music streaming firm recorded 433 million subscribers recently. Out of the total user count, 188 million are paying users.
The platform has been introducing substantial features at the time. As such, it has already added Supergrouper, Blend, and Friends Mix to the users.
It should be noted that while Spotify enjoys its success when it comes to service, it does not have the same luck with hardware integration. Last week, the company announced it would halt its Car Thing accessory.
Expect that the play and shuffle button changes will take effect soon. It will arrive on both iOS and Android platforms as part of its global launch.
Last May, Spotify became the first ever music streaming service to be involved in Roblox. With the release of "Spotify Island," users can now hop on colorful islands where they can engage in different activities such as jumping and walking.
In line with this, the company is planning to lure the Roblox players into exploring becoming "creators" for this venture.
