Apple posted a 2% improvement in its revenue over the past quarter compared to the same quarter last year. According to the Cupertino firm, this was attributed to a huge number of iPhone "switchers."
The term "switcher" refers to those Android users who switched the platform. The iPhone maker said they played an important part in their third-quarter results.
Android Users Are Jumping to iOS Platform
According to ZDNet's report, Apple CEO Tim Cook said that their revenue record and "switchers" population have improved for the latest quarter.
During the earnings call, the tech boss acknowledged that the "switchers are gradually moving to iPhone. It does not mean that the Android platform is dying, but this means that more patrons are coming to the iPhone for a change.
"And the iPhone active installed base reached a new all-time high across all geographies as a result of this level of sales performance combined with unmatched customer loyalty. In fact, the latest survey of U.S. consumers from 451 Research indicates iPhone customer satisfaction of 98%. We also attracted a record number of switchers for the June quarter, with strong double-digit year-over-year growth," Apple CFO Luca Maestri said.

In a similar story from ZDNet, iPhone seems to be driving a strong market in select regions, including India, Vietnam, and Indonesia. Maestri explained that they are looking to study the effect of geographic distribution on the adoption of Apple products.
As per Cook, the high rate of iPhone switchers has taken place because of 5G technology and a high level of customer satisfaction.
Cook continued that customer loyalty and satisfaction should be the important stuff that every company must maintain. Additionally, he said that the 5G penetration in the market had gone globally, so this means that more users will be able to use it.
Although the 5G capability is already known in some parts of the world, the usage of this technology remains low in other areas. Cook said there's a "reason to be optimistic" for it.
Apple recorded a 12% increase in the revenue from its services, while it improved by up to 3% because of the iPhones.
The tech titan said there's less revenue generated from selling smart home products, iPad, Mac, and wearables. The company was aware that supply constraints slowed them down, but it's still hopeful that its upcoming Apple Silicon hardware will do some magic in sales.
In the meantime, Apple could focus on improving the number of Mac switchers from the Windows platform. It's about time to test another ground for growth.
