The advanced Tesla Autopilot is still being criticized because of various accident reports it is involved in. As of writing, the automaker's autonomous feature is still far from perfect.

This is why Tesla is making efforts to make it better. Aside from Autopilot, the EV maker's FSD (Full Self-Driving) feature is also being integrated with numerous upgrades.

Although the Tesla Autopilot is imperfect, many drivers are still using it carelessly, which is evident in the latest autonomous feature accidents.

Unfortunately, a Tesla suddenly appeared behind the biker. The Utah Department of Public Safety stated that the EV collided with the man's motorcycle's back.

Because of this, the biker was thrown to the ground, leading to his instant death. The owner of the electric car said that he didn't see the motorist in front of him.

On the other hand, local officials said that the Tesla driver was using his Autopilot before the accident. As of press time, it is unclear of the EV owner was not paying attention to the road.

For the past few years, Elon Musk has always warned Tesla owners to keep their eyes on the road and hands on the wheels when using the Autopilot feature since the function can't still drive on its own perfectly.

Tesla Accident Added To NHSTA's SCI List

Since the newest Tesla Autopilot accident is a serious one, critics said that it could lead to another deep investigation from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's federal authorities.

It is also the latest one added to the SCI list, joining the recent 39 Tesla EV crashes. NHTSA explained that the SCI project is its effort to check the latest technologies integrated into automobiles.
