TVR Could Launch Its Griffith as an EV in 2024
According to the story by Inside EVs, the all-new Griffith, which was revealed in the past, could be launched later on in 2024 as an electric vehicle instead. TVR, the British sports car manufacturer, was revealed back in 2017.
As per an article by Autocar, TVR confirms that the Griffith will be launched in 2024 as an electric car as it partners with Formula E. The company revealed that the partnership will help them accelerate their plans toward effectively electrifying the brand.
The Company Planned to Initially Start Production in 2019 but had to Delay It
TVR noted that they did not start the production of the Griffith in 2019 as they initially planned due to them first needing to renovate its factory located in Ebbw Vale, Welsh town. The article by Inside EVs noted that lack of funds could have been one of the reasons for the delay.
As of recent, the company announced that it was able to get funding from Ensorcia, a South American company, as noted in an article by Auto Evolution. Previously, the company stated that it still needed around 30 million in order for them to set its affairs in order to start production.

TVR Only Built 211 Units of Its Sagaris from 2004 to 2006
As per the publication, there is still a strong chance that the company will start building the Griffith first with a V8 before deciding to move towards manufacturing an electric vehicle. Because of the difficulty when it comes to selling non-electric vehicles, however, it might not be legal by the time that it finally gets ready.
The last vehicle that the company ever made was the Sagaris which saw it only able to build 211 units from the year 2004 up to 2006. The company then followed this with a hiatus up until 2017 wherein the company finally revealed the new Griffith.
TVR has been experiencing a constant struggle for more than 15 years. According to Inside EVs, as much as they want to see the company start the production of electric sports cars, they are not sure if they will eventually be able to see one.
