TikTok Auto Captions on Videos May Be Turned On or Off, More Languages for Translation Tool

TikTok is giving the world a chance to choose for themselves, using auto-generated captions or toggle it off for their videos on their browsing via the different tabs on the platform. It may be toggled on or off via their For You page and Following. However, this is not the only feature TikTok brings to the public, as the translation tool gets several enhancements.

TikTok announced via its news release that they are allowing the world to turn the auto-generated captions on or off on the platform, and it would help bring them access to their preferences for the app. The new feature will get users to choose between having the closed captions available for their video or removing them to avoid mixing with the media.

The company said that the captions feature has been available since 2021 and aims to provide the world with more accessibility to its platform, especially for those who prefer having subtitles.

However, that is not all that TikTok is bringing to the world, as a new translation tool will help in different aspects of the video, and not for the captions feature only.

TikTok Translation Tool is Better Now

The platform is giving the world a chance to translate many aspects of a post into their preferred languages, including the post captions, stickers, and other media that its tool may detect. TikTok said that this feature is for inclusivity of the public to the many posts available on the platform.

It offers nine different languages for the world for translation: English, German, Indonesian, Italian, Korean, Mandarin, Portuguese, Spanish and Turkish.

TikTok and its Features

TikTok is a prominent application in the technology industry now, and it is because of the public's preference for the platform for its many features available for all. Gen Z children reportedly consume TikTok more than they use YouTube for their video browsing, with an average of 91 minutes a day spent on vertical social media.

The social media platform from China rose to prominence since it was first released in 2016, being one of the most famous media apps in the world now. It brought many features for the world to experience, including the Shopping feature available on the platform.

Its experiments in the United Kingdom ended as a flop, and hopes for its rise in the US are still high for the feature to step up.

There are many features in TikTok to try, and not all are necessarily something that would bring different things to try in the video creation. This new feature focuses on giving viewers or the audience a chance to choose their preferences for captions or no captions, which would help in their access to the app.
