Elon Musk made another unusual move after he provided a more specific production date for his most-awaited Tesla Cybertruck.
For the past few years, EV fans have been waiting for the shipments of the automaker's electric pickup truck. Various Cybertruck prototypes were spotted on public roads and test roads back in 2019.
Because of this, there were many rumors about different production dates. Previously, it was said that the Tesla Cybertruck production would start this 2022.
However, this estimated manufacturing schedule has been delayed. Now, it seems like the billionaire is sure with his EV pickup truck's production start.
Elon Musk: Tesla Cybertruck Production 2023?
According to Gizmodo's latest report, Elon Musk provided a more specific Cybertruck production date during his recent call with Tesla investors.
Their meeting happened on Wednesday, July 20. During the call, the billionaire said that the electric pickup truck would be manufactured as early as mid-2023.
He even boastfully said the new Tesla Cybertruck would be the automaker's best product.
"We are still expecting to be in production with the Cybertruck in the middle of next year. We're very excited about that product. It might actually be our best product ever," said the tech CEO via TechCrunch.
Since Elon Musk hasn't shared much detail about the preparedness of the upcoming Tesla Cybetruck, many experts are concerned, saying that the electric car might not be ready for actual road usage.
Of course, this is still hard to conclude since no EV drivers could test the new Cybertruck themselves. Because of this, the best thing you can do is wait for Tesla's actual production activities for its Cybertruck units.
Elon Musk's Plans for Tesla Cybertruck
Although the exact features of the most-awaited Tesla Cybertruck are not yet confirmed, Elon Musk has been quite open with his plans for the new EV.
One of these is using the $1.1 billion Tesla Gigafactory Austin to mass produce the electric pickup truck. However, many enthusiasts shared their concerns since the automaker is having a hard time with its Model S, Model X, and Model Y.
But, despite the problems faced by Tesla, Musk is still quite optimistic after he shared his more specific Cybertruck production schedule.
Previously, Elon Musk confirmed that the Tesla Cybertruck's wiper blades would be quite different from the ones seen in prototypes.
On the other hand, the Tesla Cybertruck 2022 launch date was removed from the automaker's official website.
