Minecraft is Keeping NFTs Out of the Gaming World, to Focus on Providing the Game for All

Minecraft is not taking this lightly, and it imposed a strict rule regarding keeping its brand and platform away from NFTs, something that is not permitted in the game's open world, as well as using its elements for the token. Recent incidents where several creators use Minecraft's skins, worlds, characters, and the like are harmful to the platform and its gamers.

Minecraft does not want NFTs, and they made this clear with a recent blog post that the company brought for the world to understand and consider. The game said that NFTs are "scarce digital assets," which goes against what the company is pushing for its experience for the world, and NFTs may be massive hindrances here.

The platform said it pushes for a "safe and inclusive experience" for all gamers to enjoy when accessing Minecraft, and NFTs go against these values they try to uphold for all. There are specific reasons why Minecraft disapproves of NFTs on its platform and even out of it, and the company is enforcing a strict rule on it for all.

Microsoft and Minecraft Disapproves of NFTs

A Twitter post by Minecraft also relays this information for all, and for those that did not have the time or luxury to read its lengthy blog post, complete with its reasons and explanation, they also provided a short version. To make the long post short, Minecraft said that "blockchains are not permitted" inside its servers or clients or use its content for its creation.

NFTs, Microsoft, and Bill Gates

Bill Gates previously said that non-fungible tokens are "100 percent based on the Greater Fool Theory," and it is a massive statement from a known executive, also one that has enormous ties with Microsoft before. The company's co-founder and long-time CEO have huge influences, and it may be something that is seen now in the industry.

It is a massive trend that games are transitioning to an approach where it integrates NFTs into their many features and functions, and it does not end with games like "Axie Infinity," "Splinterlands," and more. There are now more experiences with NFT games available to the world, and one is the upcoming battle royale experience with NFT presence called "Bravo Ready."

Despite many experiences bordering on NFTs now, not all games are interested in bringing the experience to all, and one would be Minecraft, a known sandbox open-world platform. The many creators that push for an NFT take on Minecraft's elements and many features available for gamers on the platform are not something they approve.
