According to a report by Bloomberg on Wednesday, July 20, the record-high temperature across the U.K. has left massive damage to the cloud centers of the two known tech firms.

Oracle cited that the "unreasonable temperatures" have affected their cloud and networking servers located in South London.

Meanwhile, Google said that it has also experienced the same issue in London. The search engine giant added that a "small set" of its cloud computing resources had been disrupted by the U.K. heatwave.

"This caused a partial failure of capacity in that zone, leading to V.M. terminations and a loss of machines for a small set of our customers. We're working hard to get the cooling back online and create capacity in that zone," the firm wrote on its page.

To address this problem, the company continued that it has powered down some of its servers so they could avoid further damage brought by continuous power outages.

At that time, Google noted that the problem continues to persist across Europe. That's also the time when WordPress raised its concerns regarding the outage that hit European users.

It's quite alarming to know that the U.K. recorded a very high temperature on Tuesday, July 19. The heatwave reached 40 degrees Celsius or 104 degrees Fahrenheit, per Business Insider.

It should be noted that it has surpassed the 2019 record, Met Office says in its report.

London Heat is An 'Absolute Hell'

As per BBC's recent report, several residents reported a lot of fire incidents across London. The authorities noted that some people left their homes because of the sudden blaze.

Furthermore, rail services did not also escape the violent heatwave. There have been cases where tracks have overheated. Additionally, some reports said that the overhead cables were also affected.

To stop the massive fire spread, hundreds of firefighters joined forces. They also urged the residents to evacuate as soon as possible since the damage had been growing worse.

According to one resident, he immediately spotted that the fire started to crawl into the garden of his neighborhood. He said that about 15 to 20 houses were engulfed in flames at the time.

Priti Patel, the Home Secretary, said that the public should follow the safety measures instructed by the fire service department in their localities.

The London residents were also requested to refrain from smoking, lighting up bonfires, and setting up a barbecue grill because they could trigger a blaze.
