Tesla Model Y and Model Y reached Mount Everest after five days of climbing the extreme terrain of the tallest mountain in the world.
Tesla China shared videos of the monumental journey to Mount Everest as the two electric vehicles (EVs) are made in the Chinese nation.
Tesla Model Y, Model X Reach Mount Everest
As per the latest news story by Inside EVs, the Tesla Model Y and Tesla Model X impressively survived the harsh conditions of getting to the base camp of Mount Everest.
The Tesla Model Y owner, Trensen Chongqing, who is also a Chinese vlogger, went to Mount Everest, together with his friend, who brought a Model X SUV.
Inside EVs says in its report that the Chinese vlogger, Chongqing, had to work on a bunch of modifications to make it suitable for the extremely harsh conditions of climbing to the base camp of the tallest mountain in the world.
The Tesla Model X owner also had to apply some changes to his all-electric SUV for their journey to Mount Everest.
Tesla China boasts that the Supercharger network of the renowned EV maker owned by Elon Musk helped make the over 1,500-mile journey possible. It is thanks to the wide network of Superchargers in the Chinese territory, which is around 8,700 in total, reaching even far-flung remote areas.
Tesla EVs and Mount Everest Base Camp
According to a recent report by Teslarati, the two Tesla owners faced a couple of challenges as they attempted to reach the base camp of Mount Everest.
The Chinese vlogger says that they had to go through traffic jams along the way. Not to mention that they had to go through the landslides in the Jinsha River, making it more difficult.
And as the 1,500-mile road trip lasted for a few days, they had to sleep in the car as well, which was made better thanks to the Camp Mode of Tesla.
Chongqing, the Tesla Model Y owner, points out the advantages of EVs.
The Chinese blogger shares that "on the plateaus, fuel cars may suffer from insufficient combustion but electric cars won't. Once you put a foot down, wow. Feels like the whole world is yours."
Both Tesla EVs reached the North Base Camp of Mount Everest, which has an altitude of roughly 5,200 meters or 17,060 feet, without any hiccups.
Meanwhile, the two vehicles had to be charged nine times during the whole journey to Everest.
