'Dune: War for Arrakis' from CMON is Coming to Kickstarter
CMON announced that a new experience is coming to the world, and the "Dune: War for Arrakis" tabletop game infuses the elements from the famous novel franchise into a board game. It will border on a strategy game that will pit the House of Harkonnen, the Fremen, and the House of Atreides in this epic retelling of its story.
The games company said it would also put characters from the game in a special spotlight that would help bring more insights into the story, including that of Paul Atreides and other prominent names. CMON said that it would soon drop on Kickstarter this year.
The company said it is basing its miniature figures on film and TV series elements from Legendary Entertainment, not something from the recent Denis Villeneuve film.

Tabletop Game for 'Dune' Brings Special Elements
The new tabletop game also dropped its trailer for the world, aiming to showcase the story gamers would expect from the coming board game. Moreover, "Dune" seeks to bring the world many experiences in the present, especially with an in-depth dive into its story about the Arrakis war on its abundant spice and sand holdings.
Dune's Games and its Pop Culture Influence
"Dune" is one of the most famous franchises now, and it is because of the recent remake of its latest film for the world to see, with an award-winning cast and crew members to bring the characters to the spotlight. The film triggered the "Dune" fanbase back to prominence, and there are limited game adaptations in the present to get it on the latest platforms.
Nevertheless, the franchise's fame is a massive indication that games will soon come, mainly as it would depend on the coming films from Denis Villeneuve, the latest movie director.
There was a recent game that saw its remaster to a different title but still builds on a discontinued project from the early 2000s. The game is a "Dune" franchise title for the Game Boy but is now a different project that is also releasing on a new platform.
This Dune game is now known as "Elland: The Crystal Wars," with its base game and creation from the franchise.
Other Dune titles for the modern gaming consoles have limited news on creating one for the franchise, despite the rising demand for it.
The good thing is that several titles are coming with the "Dune" experience for all, and one is a tabletop strategy board game that aims to deliver on the "War for Arrakis," a known sand territory in the novel. It will bring different elements and entities that provide the world with the latest there is to the title with CMON's Kickstarter.
