Hyundai's Ioniq 5 N to Release in 2023

According to Drive.com Australia, the giant carmaker confirmed that the Ioniq 5 N is set to see the light of day globally in 2023.

Hyundai made the big confirmation as it formally debuted its all-new Ioniq 6 sedan at the packed Busan motor show in the South Korean nation. Drive.com notes that the new all-electric offering is the second vehicle to flaunt the Electric Global Modular Platform of Hyundai and Kia.

Meanwhile, the first-ever EV under the high-performance N branding, the Ioniq 5 N, is going to be based on the original Ioniq 5, as its name suggests.

The spokesperson of Hyundai Australia, Guido Schenken, told Drive.com that they are "excited to confirm the Ioniq 5 will come to Australia."

The Hyundai Australia spokesperson further claims that "N cars resonate strongly with Australians, and Ioniq 5 N will add a unique electrified element to our performance portfolio."

According to the latest report from CNET, Hyundai has officially announced that its first-ever N brand EV, the Ioniq 5 N, is going to hit the roads sometime in 2023.

But despite that, CNET suggests that the RN22e concept already gives us a hint on what we should expect from the performance of the mysterious Ioniq 5 N.

Hyundai showcased the Ioniq 6-based concept, flaunting its 77.4-kWh battery pack and up to a whopping 546 horsepower and 546 pound-feet of torque dual motor.

The online news outlet also observed that the performance specs of the RN22e concept are similar to another South Korean-made performance EV, no less than the Kia EV6 GT.

All that said, even if Hyundai only gave scant details about the upcoming Ioniq 5 N, we could expect to be similar in performance with the Kia EV6 GT.
