The latest Twitter outage is finally over after the social media firm confirmed that all systems are already back to normal.
The issue started on July 14 at exactly 8:05 a.m. EDT. After around 40 minutes, Twitter announced that its online platform's systems were working properly.
Before the fix, Downdetector confirmed that thousands of users were experiencing several issues with their Twitter accounts, preventing them from seeing tweets or even opening the app.
The problems are mainly on app access (around 58%), Twitter feeds (around 6%), as well as the actual Twitter website (around 36%).
[BREAKING] Twitter Outage Finally Fixed!
According to The Verge's latest report, the Twitter outage ended around 8:40 a.m. EDT. However, it seems like there are still some individuals who can't access their Twitter accounts.
With that, the social media company's Twitter Support team posted a tweet to ensure that the fix is already being rolled out to the remaining affected users.
"Some of you are having issues accessing Twitter and we're working to get it back up and running for everyone. Thanks for sticking with us," said Twitter via its official announcement post.
The outage occurred after the tech firm filed a lawsuit against Elon Musk due to the canceled acquisition deal. Despite the coincidence, there is no solid proof to tie in the issues between the technical problem within the platform and the company's feud with the billionaire.
What To Do If Twitter Issues Persist?
HITC recently provided some troubleshooting methods that you can rely on to fix the most common Twitter error message; "Something Went Wrong."
This problem can appear on the mobile app and the desktop version. If ever you are still experiencing this, here are the things you need to do:
- Try closing the app and opening it again. This is the most common troubleshooting method that is somehow efficient.
- You can also log in and then log out of the app to fix the issue.
- If ever these two methods above don't work, it is advisable to delete the app and re-install it. This sometimes works since the problem may just be on the connection.
- The last one would be reloading the app or website multiple times.
All the methods mentioned above are not 100% efficient, but they are still worth the try. If not, the best thing you can do is wait for the actual fix of Twitter to roll out on your account.
Previously, Twitter's chairman confirmed that Musk's acquisition deal had been canceled.
On the other hand, Twitter employees talking about Musk's canceled purchase deal are now being banned.
