Apple's first MacBook Pro that introduced the freaking Touch Bar is nearing its arrival on the "vintage" product list of the Cupertino-based tech giant before July comes to its final curtain call this year.
The renowned tech giant, which also offers smartphones and tablets, is also including some of its older iPad Pro models and iMac units, on its "vintage" list as this month approaches its end.
Apple's First MacBook Pro with Touch Bar 'Vintage'
Apple introduced the first-ever MacBook Pro with the Touch Bar LED strip above its keyboard in October 2016, as per a news story by the online website that goes by the name Mac Rumors.
The MacBook Pro Touch Bar was part of a massive redesign, wherein Apple also controversially removed all of its ports, except for its 3.5mm headphone jack and its Thunderbolt ports. The casualties of the port purge included the SD card slot.
But aside from merely removing ports and stuffing it with an LED strip, the late-2016 MacBook Pro also features a new butterfly keyboard and a handy larger trackpad. Not to mention that Apple also brought its Touch ID technology to the MacBook during its release.
Overall, the first MacBook with the Touch Bar sported a lighter chassis, thanks to its thinner look after its shaved off some necessary ports.
However, the release of the MacBook Pro with Touch Bar is roughly more than five years ago by now, making it suitable for the "vintage" designation of Apple.
Mac Rumors notes in the same report that the late-2016 MacBook that debuted the Touch Bar is approaching its arrival at the "vintage" list of the Cupertino tech giant by the end of July or on July 31, to be more exact.
The online tech news outlet says the information came straight from an internal memo within the numerous Apple Stores in the United States (US) and Apple Authorized Service Providers.
Apple 'Vintage' Products
But what does it mean that the 2016 MacBook Pro is entering the "vintage" list of Apple products?
According to the latest report from Apple Insider, the renowned tech giant behind iconic offerings like MacBook, iPhones, and iPads, to name a few, classifies its products as "vintage" five years after its sales have stopped.
And once an Apple product becomes vintage, it gets hard to service them as its parts and components end up becoming less available than it has even been before.
