DoorDash glitch sends hundreds of free food orders to its hungry users, and stories from these customers have started storming Twitter to share their experiences.
The temporary glitch on the app of the US-based delivery service ends up in hundreds of its users ordering food and drink free of charge.
DoorDash Glitch and Free Food
As per a news story by Entrepreneur, the food delivery app, DoorDash, is the talk of the town on Twitter this Friday, July 8, for the wrong reasons.
No, its app is not having another outage, which leaves users unable to order their food.
This time, a temporary glitch still lets its users place their orders, but it skipped the part where they need to pay for it. Essentially, the bug seemingly allowed its users to order anything without paying.
So upon learning, its users hopped on to order hefty amounts of fast food and liquor, and, thus, DoorDash became an instant Twitter sensation.
The situation got a bit out of control before the food delivery service could iron out its payment issues. Twitter posts have shared photos of fast food chains filled with an outrageous number of packed orders. One of the tweets even boasted about buying bottles of liquors worth more than $1,000.
DoorDash Glitch: What Just Happened?
The food delivery service explains that there was some sort of issue with its payment processing.
DoorDash says that the glitch on its app resulted in users checking out "without an authorized form of payment for a short period of time."
And in turn, users of the food delivery service went on to take advantage of the temporary glitch to get their hands on "free" food, drinks, and whatever is available on DoorDash.

Are the DoorDash Glitch Orders Really Free?
According to a recent report by Mashable, Twitter users are now worried that the food delivery platform might start charging them for the "free" food and drinks they order during the payment glitch.
Some Twitter folks narrate that DoorDash has already charged their accounts for the amount of the free orders they got.
Meanwhile, the spokesperson of DoorDash dubbed all the unpaid checkouts during the temporary glitch as "fraudulent orders."
The delivery service says that they "immediately corrected the issue."
And now, the firm says that it is "actively canceling fraudulent orders, and are in touch with merchants impacted to ensure they are compensated for any unauthorized orders they may have received."
The US-based food delivery app went on to apologize for the inconvenience that the glitch may have brought. So, those orders that were made during the temporary payment issue of the DoorDash app were not actually free after all.
