Roscosmos announced that they would use their part at the International Space Station in any way necessary.
The Russian space agency shared this plan after NASA criticized it for putting Russian-backed territory flags at the orbiting laboratory.
This is not the first time that the National Aeronautics and Space Administration has criticized Roscosmos.
Previously, NASA said that the statement made by Dmitry Rogozin, Roscosmos' head, is inappropriate since it suggests sabotaging the space station.
Now, another issue is brewing between NASA and Roscosmos as the international space agency considers the recent act of the Russian space company as anti-Ukraine propaganda.
Roscosmos Says It Will Use Its ISS Part in Any Way
According to Independent UK's latest report, Dmitry Rogozin said that Roscosmos would use its part of the ISS to do everything they consider useful and necessary.
This new issue began after the cosmonauts used two flags of Russian-backed separatist territories in eastern Ukraine; Luhansk People's Republic and the Donetsk People's Republic.
NASA criticized Roscosmos after seeing the photos of the cosmonauts, saying that the International Space Station should be politically neutral.
"Nasa strongly rebukes Russia using the International Space Station for political purposes to support its war against Ukraine," said a NASA spokesperson.
The official added that Roscosmos' previous action is not appropriate since it doesn't follow the main goals of ISS, which is too advanced science and technology for peaceful reasons.
Russian Cosmonauts' Flag Photos
Space.Com reported that the Russian space agency shared photos of their cosmonauts holding the Russian-backed territory flags.
Roscosmos posted the images on their Telegram account on Monday, July 4.
After seeing the controversial images, NASA and other critics claimed that the action of the Russian agency is a misuse of the International Space Station.
This is not the first time that Roscosmos used ISS for political reasons.
Previously, the Russian space company said that if U.S. sanctions continue, they will actually leave the International Space Station.
On the other hand, the Russian space agency said that Roscosmos' ISS cooperation might be affected by sanctions against the country.
Meanwhile, Elon Musk claimed that SpaceX would save ISS from Roscosmos' threat.
