Following the 13th flight of the SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket, the company successfully deployed more than 53 Starlink internet satellites on Thursday, July 7.
The liftoff started in Florida, particularly from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.
SpaceX Falcon 9 Releases New Batch of Starlink Satellites
According to Spectrum News, SpaceX's two-stage rocket completed its 13th takeoff at around 9:11 EDT.
Along with its flight, the space firm's Falcon 9 rocket deployed 53 Starlink satellites in the planet's low orbit. SpaceX representatives confirmed the milestone via a tweet.
The recent mission was the 13th time that Falcon 9 reached the first stage. It tied its "reuse" record that the SpaceX set did over the previous month when it launched the Starlink satellites to space.
Falcon 9 Rideshare Mission
Aside from conducting Starlink launches recently, the booster has been a huge help for the space company in accomplishing its first crewed exploration en route to the International Space Station two years ago.
According to Space.com, Falcon 9 was involved in a couple of "rideshare" missions where the rocket carried 12 satellites on transit. These include seven Starlink satellites and ANASIS-II military communications satellites from South Korea.
For CEO Elon Musk, SpaceX has gone a very long way because of the "rapid rocket reuse." This achievement has been breaking barriers across the cosmos.
The company is planning to launch an all-in reusable rocket for future launches. SpaceX wants to bring Starship into the spotlight soon. It should be noted that Falcon 9's upper stage is dispensable.
Starlink Satellite Constellation
SpaceX wants to be the leading internet service provider in the world. To achieve that, it should be consistent in releasing its Starlink satellites in low orbit.
So far, the company has managed to send over 2,700 satellites. As of writing, it's planning to deploy 12,000 more spacecraft. On top of that, there are 30,000 that are still pending for approval.
This year, the company has succeeded in sending 16 Starlink-related missions out of 28 flights.
July 7 is a memorable day for SpaceX since the company commemorates this date as the day when it achieved the 100th Falcon landing. Not only that since it also marked the 50th Starlink takeoff of the firm.
Last month, Tech Times reported that the Falcon 9 rocket was able to launch communications satellites to orbit in Egypt. This venture is in line with the company's worldwide network upgrade.
In other news, three Chinese astronauts aboard Shenzhou-14 are now conducting scientific tests on their way to Tianhe orbit core module. The upcoming exploration will take place this month, Tech Times wrote.
The taikonauts will be performing a series of tests as part of the further assessment to see if they are fit to thrive in the Space Station. They are training to reduce the microgravity in their bodies.
