Going out on adventures with electric cars is not ideal if the location you are headed to does not have an abundance of a charging station you may use to replenish your charge. However, that is not much of a problem if the leaked Tesla's Solar Trailer prototype comes soon for the public's purchase, focusing on its charging feature and Starlink internet.
Tesla Solar Trailer Leaks: What Does it Bring for Everyone?
One would think, how could they go on adventures if there are no available charging stations and the internet is unavailable in the area via mobile data or terrestrial connections. The answer? Tesla's Solar Trailer aims to bring two of these features in one device, something that its electric vehicles could tow on the go.
According to Tesla Adri via Twitter, a new device appeared at the "Ideen Expo" in Hanover, Germany, showcasing the company's Solar Trailer concept. Tesla Adri said that this device is "for show" only and is not yet available or operational from the manufacturers.
It is essentially a solar range extender that aims to provide extra power to the EV's car batteries when running out of charge. A solar roof on Tesla vehicles would be too small to accumulate power that would suffice its trip, hence the Solar Trailer.
The device comes with a Starlink internet connection that would most likely use its "Portability" feature to bring it anywhere for a connection.
Tesla Solar Trailer is 'for Show,' But is It Coming Soon?
The Tesla Solar Trailer's purpose got confirmation from its employees, but Tesla Adri says that it does not have storage capabilities as of now. The device will function as a charger for extra mileage and internet source, but it is not yet available for interested buyers or if it will be available for the public soon.
Tesla and its Ventures
Tesla is a clean energy company, and most of its offers focus on providing the world with an alternative power source as its main feature for all of its ventures and technology. One of the upcoming vehicles in 2023 is the Tesla Cybertruck, the electric pickup of the clean energy company Elon Musk promised the world before.
One of the upcoming ventures for Tesla is its capability to include Starlink's Portability service that would fit the satellite internet on its vehicle and provide a connection at all places. However, there are no packages from the companies regarding this yet, but there were previous mods on a Tesla that hooked a Starlink receiver on the electric car.
Nevertheless, all of these would have their answers with the Tesla Solar Trailer that will bring a stowaway vehicle that a car would tow, providing power and internet in one device. For now, it is a prototype or something for the show, but it has the potential to have a massive demand in the market as it solves two problems in one.
