"Skyrim" is often referred to as one of the best Bethesda RPG games, but it lacks a huge component that some players wish to change. A lot of players have been requesting a co-op mod to allow them to play together, and now, a group of eight can finally go on quests together.
New 'Skyrim' Mod Lets Players Try Out Co-op Mode
According to the story by Kotaku, the co-op mode is a feature that has been requested for numerous Bethesda RPG games, including "Skyrim." Finally, a new mod allows players to venture into the game together.
Players will be able to go on together on adventures "more stably than ever before" with friends. An article by PC Gamer, "Skyrim Together Rebor," allows for a co-op mode for up to eight players with "almost every facet of the game staying in sync."
Players can Even Engage in PVP Mode with the New Mod
Players will be able to go on quests together, squabble over loot, and even sync the audio or subtitles across every player. If players are feeling a little bit more competitive, players can even try out the PVP mode.
The new mod is said to be an update to the previous co-op efforts of Tilted Online's Skyrim Together. The brand new version includes a ground-up rebuild that is expected to make significant improvements when it comes to the original concept.
New 'Skyrim' Mod Can't be Expected to be Perfect
Veteran "Skyrim" modders should know that despite being able to play in co-op mode, players still can't expect perfection. Tilted Online is trying to "retrofit online co-operative play" towards a game that wasn't designed to support that type of gameplay.
The team explained in a Reddit thread that members are free to work on the mod should they have any free time. The post notes that the mod will not be perfect and that players will occasionally experience crashes sometimes.

The Evolution of 'Skyrim' and Its Reliance on Mods Over the Years
It also noted that there will be certain quests that will break, and certain bugs will happen that aren't fixable. The post clarified that this is the reality when it comes to creating a multiplayer mod instead of Bethesda, a massive studio, making a multiplayer game themselves.
Mods have remained a huge part of the Bethesda RPG experience when it comes to PC games to the point that the company itself has relied on them. Bethesda has even started hiring from that particular talent pool for a few years now.
Although there have been multiple "Skyrim" mods over the years, it's hard to find a co-op mod that actually works and is even "half stably" which constitutes modification on a whole new level. The new mod will allow gamers to play "Skyrim" on coop mode before "Starfield" arrives.
