Samsung's new phone may not be the most aesthetic, but it is surely designed to be durable, thick, and "rugged."
The tech giant unveiled on Wednesday, June 29, its new Galaxy XCover6 Pro, which was created primarily to be an "enterprise-ready" phone that aims to aid businesses.
Perfect for Workers
Samsung Electronics aims to deliver enhanced performance for their new phone, coupled with durability and end-to-end security that are perfect for workers on the go.
The Galaxy XCover6 Pro has large bezels around its display and a little thick body. Its ribbed back pattern appears visually appealing and fascinating to improve the phone's grip.
One of Galaxy XCover6 Pro's coolest features is its 2,950 mAh battery which is detachable and exchangeable. Samsung noted that the user might simply replace the dead battery with a charged one to resume using their phone.
According to SlashGear, it is unusual for modern smartphones to have this feature, which helps extend the life of the device once the original battery no longer has the capacity to retain a charge.
Additionally, the new phone will use recyclable polymers with a handset that is MIL MIL-STD 810H and IP68 rated. It also features Gorilla Glass Victus+ and a touchscreen that is conducive to wet conditions.
The phone's Touch Sensitivity10 settings can also be used to change the screen's responsiveness when workers are using gloves or when they're using their device while it's raining.

"Among The Most Durable Smartphones"
"While the Galaxy XCover6 Pro is among the most durable smartphones available, it's also one of the least bulky. Its toughness is balanced with a stylish, sleek design more commonly found on consumer devices, giving it a slimmer and more ergonomic feel than traditional ruggedized smartphones," Samsung wrote in a press release.
XCover6 Pro will also sport a 6.6-inch full-screen display with a super-smooth 120Hz refresh rate, and on top of that, the phone is only ten millimeters thick.
The phone's internal structure is powered by the 5G-compatible A Snapdragon 778G, which comes with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of expandable memory.
The 50MP main camera on the rear, along with an 8MP ultra-wide camera, represents a significant improvement for rugged phones.
A 13MP sensor will also be concealed under a dated V-shaped notch on the front-facing camera of the new device.
The Galaxy XCover6 Pro is protected by Samsung Knox, the industry-leading end-to-end mobile security solution, which offers "multi-layered security" rooted in the chip.
To provide end-to-end and real-time security against the ongoing risks facing the modern workforce, Samsung said that the phone's security functions like a vault with hardware-based defenses that are seamlessly integrated with the software.
Samsung will launch the new rugged phone in Asia, the Middle East, and Europe. However, the company did not disclose the specific release date and which markets would receive the phone.
The cost of the Galaxy XCover6 Pro is still unknown, but according to SamMobile, rumor has it that it will cost $626.
