"Half-Life 2" is a game that most fans loved when it was released, and it is because it brought a tremendous experience for the gamers, which redefined gaming to a new level during its release. Now, it is a game that users can play via the Nintendo Switch using a mod from a Twitter user, saying that the new "Portal Collection" released recently is the key.
'Half-Life 2' is Available on the Nintendo Switch via a 'Portal' Port Mod
A user named "Oatmeal Dome" shared his new modification to bring "Half-Life 2" to the hybrid console from the Japanese multinational tech company, the Nintendo Switch. The Twitter user said that he could get it to the Switch interface through the new "Portal Collection" that features Valve's "Portal" and "Portal 2" titles.
The user also uploaded his progress on YouTube, where he showed a successful run of "Half-Life 2" via the Nintendo Switch, saying that the game is possible to run despite not having an actual release for it.
The "Portal Companion Collection" is available via the Nintendo Switch's online store for $19.99, but users would have to purchase "Half-Life 2" from Valve, which is meant for the PC.
'Half-Life 2' on Nintendo Switch: Is It Good?
Oatmeal Dome said that users might run into some bugs as "Half-Life 2" is a game meant for the PC, and it would only run via "Portal" as it shares the same port to run the games. Users may enjoy a game that will let them experience "HL2" despite not seeing a release for the Switch, but they would have to face its problems as it is not meant for the console.
Valve's 'Portal' and 'Half-Life'
Valve last released a game for the "Half-Life" franchise last March 2020, and it brought a VR game that continued the legacy of the famous game series for all the fans and enthusiasts of the title. "Half-Life" Alyx may be bordering on the success of the renowned franchise, but it still gave gamers a unique experience that brings the public to its world.
Of course, this does not exclude Valve's other top games on the platform and it is with the "Portal" franchise that is also a significant franchise from the company. The two-game series are some of Valve's best work, and these two are closely related as "Portal" runs on the "Half-Life 2" platform, and it is something that gamers enjoy.
Now, these two titles are inseparable again, as a game modification for the "Portal Collection" recently dropped via the Nintendo Switch platform is making a bridge for gamers to enjoy "Half-Life 2." The mod is not perfect, and it experiences many bugs for users to bring everything it offers to the public, but it suffices the need to have the experience again for users.
