Air New Zealand's new Economy Skynest enhancement will soon be the world's first economy class bunk beds. The airline agency announced this effort despite the rising fuel prices across the globe.
As of writing, the fuel hike issue is worsening, with crude oil costs not improving. However, it seems like Air New Zealand still wants to provide more comfort to its people who can only afford the economy class seats.
"The airline has responded to overwhelming customer feedback on the importance of sleep and need for more comfort and space," said the airline company via its official blog post.
Air New Zealand's Economy Skynest
According to Gizmodo's latest report, the new Economy Skynest service of Air New Zealand will start around 2024. The airliner calls this new enhancement "the world's first sleep pods."
Based on this detail, economy class passengers can now stretch their legs and completely lay on their backs. Because of the comfort it offers to those who are tight on budget, the Economy Skynest is one of the most-awaited enhancements of Air New Zealand.
When it comes to features, passengers will have pillows and blankets. Although the sizes of these new pods are not comparable to the usual beds, their lengths and widths are enough to allow people to spread their bodies.
On the other hand, it is also not as private as business class flights. But, Air New Zealand said that there are curtains that will offer you a bit of privacy.
Other Flight Enhancements
Aside from the new Economy Skynest, Air New Zealand also announced other flight enhancements that its loyal passengers can take advantage of.
One of these is with its economy class seats. The airliner confirmed that its cheapest seating option will now have more legroom.
There will also be extra storage capacity, as well as a seatback screen that is 50% larger. If you want to see further details, you can click this link.
