Samsung is adding a new feature to its browser called the Samsung Internet Beta v18, which would allow users to copy text from images. Other features that Samsung is proud of include its more advanced tracker blocking and foldable tweaks.
Samsung Internet Browser Comes with New Features
Being able to copy texts from images can be a very useful tool, especially if the text is long and users need to search for it. The tool is also very useful when extracting links from images like a poster or any other image file.
Samsung is releasing a new beta of its app, and the company has noted a few highlighted improvements. Included in the improvements are the ability to extract text from an image, some foldable tweaks, and also a more advanced form of tracker blocking.
Samsung Internet v18 Includes New Feature Called 'Text Capture'
The new Samsung Internet v18 includes a new feature it calls the "text capture" and is similar to Apple's own feature, the Live Text. According to the story by Sam Mobile, the new features include an improved anti-tracking technology in order to combat more latest technologies that try to track users' behavior online.
With the new Samsung Internet Beta v18, users will be able to get a text from images they see on web pages. In order to use the feature, all users have to do is to long-press an image and click on the "Extract Text" feature.
Feature Will Only Work on Devices Running on Android 12-Based One UI 4.1.1
Users will then be taken to an overflow menu which they can use to copy, share, or even translate the text that they have selected. The new feature, however, will only be working on phones that are already running the Android 12-based One UI 4.1.1.
Since the feature has certain OS requirements, it won't be available for all Galaxy owners to use just yet. Samsung has also made some changes when it comes to the UI design, with its toolbar appearing either towards the bottom of the screen or somewhere besides the URL bar.

How to Get the Samsung Internet Beta v18 on Android
Depending on the screen size, it will appear towards the bottom on regular smartphone models as well as beside the URL bar located at the top on large-screen devices, including foldable phones and tablets.
Samsung Internet is reportedly based on the Chromium web browser. With the new v18, the web browser will be using the updated engine v99. Samsung's very own web browser can be downloaded from either the Galaxy Store or the Google Play Store.
The web browser, however, won't be exclusive to Samsung Android smartphones and tablets and can run on other devices that have the Android 12-based One UI 4.1.1 operating system installed.
