Last year, the company made a huge transition in its leadership following the promotion of former Vice Chairman Han Jong-Hee Han. At the time, the CEO was assigned the new SET Division leader as Kyehyun Kyung handled the DS Division.

To look forward to the prosperity of its business, Samsung decided to promote John-Hee Han to lead the Visual Display Business.

According to the Samsung Newsroom, JH Han has an important part in notching the top sales for the TVs globally in the 15th straight year since he has expertise in TV research and development.

He was seen to be a driving force in the SET division which would bolster the emergence of new technologies and strategies for the company.

As an official in the tech industry, JH Han wants to be more associated with the Samsung staff by being called by his initials. During the Digital eXperience division meeting last April, the CEO said that some employees called him "JH" instead of the usual "daepyo-nim" or "buhoejang-nim," per The Korea Herald.

Truly, JH wants the work culture to be lighter and more smooth-flowing among all people in the company.

Additionally, this is a good move for the tech boss, especially if Samsung aims to create a more productive workplace. This would also attract talents who will want to test the environment and culture inside Samsung.

The action is in line with Samsung's internal policy of adding "nim" (Korean suffix) to a staff's name. This would further eliminate the need to call them "bujang" (team leader) and "gwajang" (manager).

Samsung CEO Signals Metaverse Trend Participation

In another story from the same source, Han Jong-Hee has previously signaled that he would lead the creation of a dedicated headset for the metaverse platform.

The popularity of the metaverse subjects is sending everyone in amazement. The trend can be incorporated into games, wearable devices, and other tech innovations.

During the Samsung CEO's MWC 2022 exhibition visit, Han mentioned that the consumer electronics firm was striving for "perfection" for the release of the upcoming gear.

At that time, Han did not reveal the release date for the metaverse device. It's possible that it could come in the form of hardware and even wearables like headsets and smart glasses.

In the future, the XR device could be the first Samsung device to thrive in the metaverse environment. Furthermore, it can be used by people with other gadgets such as tablets, laptops, and smartwatches.
