Chinese livestreamers posting medical and other professional content creators are now required to have certifications showing that they are well known when it comes to laws, finances, medicines, etc.
On the other hand, some speculations claim that the Chinese government will soon use health apps to crack down on dissent in the country.
Chinese Live Streamers Need Certification?
According to the South China Morning Post, online influencers need to have relevant qualifications before they can make content discussing laws, education, medicines, and other topics that are meant to be explained by professionals.

This new requirement is included in the 18-point guideline published by the National Radio and Television Administration, as well as the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
"For live broadcast content that requires a high professional level, the anchor shall obtain the corresponding professional qualification and report the professional qualification to the live broadcast platform," explained in the new regulation.
However, China's new regulation for live streamers and other online influencers didn't specify if they must have college or master's degrees in certain fields before they can create professional content.

Online Behaviors That Chinese Live Streamers Must Avoid
Aside from certifications, China's new regulation also stated some banned behaviors that live streamers must avoid. One of these is publishing content that can affect the image of the Chinese Communist Party.
On the other hand, creating videos featuring money, luxurious products, and extravagant lifestyle is also forbidden. These are just among the banned online content behaviors that social media influencers must avoid:
- Spoofing, distorting, vilifying, desecrating, or negating the deeds and spirit of heroes, martyrs, and exemplary figures.
- Violating national religious policies, carrying out religious activities in non-religious sites, promoting religious extremism, cults, and other such content.
- Harming the public image of specific occupations and groups such as the people's army, police, and judges.
Health Apps To Prevent Dissent?
While authorities are trying to control online influencers in China, rumors claim that the Chinese government will soon use health apps to prevent dissent among the public.
Foreign Policy reported that this speculation is now concerning some individuals. Previously, some sources claimed that COVID-19 restrictions were actually used to prevent protests.
They also believe that the Chinese government will do the same with the health apps.
