iPhone Reunites with User After Missing in the River

As per a news story by BBC, the smartphone owner accidentally dropped his iPhone in a river way back in August 2021.

The Apple mobile device went on to dive to the bottom of the River Wye after the incident. The owner, Owain Davies, said he was canoeing on a stag while attending a bachelor party before losing his phone.

When you drop your phone on a river, there should be a slim chance that you are getting that back whether it is working or not.

While there is hope that it might surprisingly come back after a few days or hours, ten months is long enough for an owner to let go. After several months, it looks like the iPhone is completely gone.

But surprisingly, the iPhone got back to its owner, thanks to another canoeing folk in the same river.

Missing iPhone Found After 10 Months

According to a recent report by Apple Insider, a man named Miguel Pacheco found the missing iPhone earlier this June.

Although mud and water covered the phone, Pacheco went on to bring home the iPhone that he randomly stumbled upon during his canoeing escapade.

As he got home, he made sure to dry out the device, which has been at the bottom of the river for nearly a year.

Pacheco tasked himself to find the owner of the random smartphone in the river. So, he decided to post photos of the missing iPhone online in hopes to bring it back to its rightful owner.

By the looks of the iPhone, Pacheco says that all his efforts appear useless. He notes that the smartphone was "full of water" when he found it.

Despite that, he tried his best to dry up the phone, thinking it might be home to some sentimental photos and videos.

Pacheco said that "I know if I lost my phone, I've got a lot of pictures of my children, I know I'd want that back."

The next morning, he tried to charge the iPhone, and surprisingly still lit up, showcasing its lock screen - a photo of a man and a woman.
