Man Uses AirTag to Track Bag After Receiving No News from Airport for a Week

A man from Australia decided to use the Apple AirTag in order to look for his lost luggage after not hearing from the airport for around a week. After tracing down the luggage via AirTag, he was able to find it at the Melbourne airport.

A Man Used Apple AirTags to Look for His Lost Luggage

According to the story by SydneyAusToday, the man decided to document the whole decisive action he had to take in order to find his missing bag. This included breaking into the airport office and using a GPS tracker in order to look for his lost luggage.

The man in the story goes by the name of Shane Miller and is a tech expert and cycling enthusiast from Ballarat. He said that he was not able to receive his luggage that was checked with the airline after returning from a holiday in Europe.

The Man's Luggage Included $4,500 Worth of Bicycle Gear

Miller reportedly took a week-long holiday in mid-June and when he got home, he wasn't able to receive his luggage. Inside his bag was expensive bicycle gear that was reportedly worth around $4,500 and it had his personal belongings.

The man decided to film his experience and post it on YouTube to show what he had to go through in order to locate and find his luggage. Eventually, he was able to trace it down to an office located at Melbourne airport.

Miller Tried to Contact the Airlines and Other Authorities

Although Miller already filed a lost luggage form to Singapore Airlines as well as Swissport, their luggage carrier, he had not received any updates from them within a week. Miller noted that he was not able to "join customer service despite calling up to 16 times."

The man said that he had no signs from the airline, Melbourne airport, or even the luggage partner that his bag was even located in Australia. Miller was able to capture footage of him using the Apple AirTag to look for his luggage located in a pile of other bags in the Swissport office.

Miller had to go Through a 'Lost Luggage Graveyard'

By using the Apple AirTag, Miller decided to take things into his own hands and the video, shows him being able to use the AirTag locator on his phone in order to find a GPS signal from his Apple AirTag.

The signal showed that his bag was indeed at Melbourne airport and after finding his way through the Swissport office at the airport, he was finally able to find his luggage. According to Apple Insider, the man had to go through a "lost luggage graveyard" inside the airline office in order to look for the missing luggage with the help of the Apple AirTag.
