Cars and roads may have been the standard in Cyberpunk, but a new mod will finally take you to the future with flying cars, motorcycles, and other vehicles. Plus, a set of new projects coming in 2023. Here's what we know so far.
Flying Car Mods in Cyberpunk 2077
"Cyberpunk 2077" has been a highly anticipated game from CD Projekt Red since it was revealed in 2012, with a lengthy queue for its release in late December 2020, with fans growing antsy.
The game earned the Best Story category at the Steam Game Awards in 2021, and it centered on the plot and setting of the game, which takes place more than fifty years in the future. It is a reimagining of what technology can achieve for society and making it available to the public for purposes other than development.
Now, there are vehicle modifications for Cyberpunk 2077 that include police chases, automobile customization, and even a fully functional metro system, but not what appears to be the most modern feature the future can provide; the flying cars.
Considering how much the cyberpunk game genre concentrates on future cities, it's surprising that Cyberpunk 2077 doesn't already have hovering vehicles. But now, gamers can finally experience a more futuristic update with new flying car mods.
According to PC Games, YouTuber LastKnownMeal discovered that you can now download a mod created by designer Jack Humbert that allows you to fly automobiles and bikes in Cyberpunk 2077. It also has wheels that can be turned into thrusters, much as in Back to the Future. Flying bikes and a horrifying first-person perspective are also available.

New Projects for Cyberpunk 2077
Besides flying cars, there is also one major development to anticipate. A massive Cyberpunk 2077 expansion is set to release in 2023, according to developer CD Projekt Red as reported by PC Games.
The announcement was made during the studio's most recent financial results call, along with information on some of the company's next projects, including an unnamed process focusing on either The Witcher or Cyberpunk.
Devs have also released a statement regarding new projects in 2023, saying "Cyberpunk 2077's upcoming expansion will arrive in 2023. Please stay tuned for more details coming later this year."
CDPR claims "additional support for Cyberpunk 2077" is coming on top of the new expansion in a broad overview of production plans for 2022, which should be expected already. In addition, the developers also confirm that they are working on an "unannounced project based on one of our franchises" alongside The Molasses Flood, an indie gaming studio bought by CDPR last year.
Speaking of projects, Cyberpunk has another one at Netflix that was announced months before their flying vehicles update. Netflix already called it the "Cyberpunk: Edgerunners," an anime version of the popular CD Projekt Red game, available on its site.
It will revolve around a new experience for every gamer who has played Cyberpunk. The new series will reportedly further explain the plot and focus on a different point of view that is unique to the series, according to Tech Times.
