Rumor Says Sony is Coming Out with the PS5 'Pro Controller'
Players that have been struggling with the stick shift and are left with the potential choice of paying extra just to fix it might be able to do so with the rumored pro controllers. As per Tom Henderson's report, a solution could happen wherein players replace the whole analog stick unit.
When the PlayStation 5 first launched, its controller was met with both positive and negative comments regarding its style and function. While some users loved how Sony decided to take a different route with the controllers, others spotted certain inconveniences when it came to functionality.
Players Will be Able to Swap Parts to Get a 'New Controller Feel'
To explain, instead of having to put up with any particular mechanical issue, players can easily swap parts in order to get a "new controller feel." According to the story by Push Square, by swapping parts, players will no longer have to replace the whole chassis.
The article cautions that the price has not been revealed, so there's still no way of telling how much the replacements could cost. This isn't the first time this type of approach has been used on controllers.
Sony Expected to Announce the Pro Controller By the End of June
Previously, the Thrustmaster ESwap Pro Controller worked in the same way. Depending on how Sony wants to release swappable parts, there is a potential for different sticks and components to be replaced as well.
The original rumor says official news regarding the Pro Controller and/or swappable parts could be released sometime this June. This, of course, should be taken with caution since there is still no official word as to when or if Sony will announce the Pro Controller.
Pro Controller Rumors Could Come with Removable Analog Sticks, Trigger Stops, and Rear Buttons

Push Square points towards another article, Try Hard Guides, that details how the Pro Controllers could be coming soon. As per the report, Sony could be coming out with removable analog sticks, trigger stops, and even rear buttons.

Alleged Prototype Captured but with No Confirmation if Image is Official
Should this happen, players will be able to fully customize their own controls to make their experience more efficient. An alleged prototype picture was released, but it has not been confirmed if the image showed the official hardware.
As per the article, the prototype "also features grips to help hold the controller, which also seems to be removable." On top of the visuals, the report notes a source that says the upcoming PS5 Pro Controller could come with significant software upgrades.
