Tesla's worth is actually affected by various factors. These include its efficiency as a zero-emission vehicle, advanced features, and other upgrades.
But, Elon Musk said that the entire value of Tesla EVs depends if they can solve the self-driving technology. For the past few years, Tesla and other giant automakers have tried making driverless systems flawless.
However, they were not able to achieve it. Tesla's FSD (Full Self-Driving) feature still has issues that can put drivers' lives at risk.
But, Musk said that they will further focus on perfecting their self-driving tech, which can still take years.
Tesla's Worth Depends on Self-Driving, Says Elon Musk
According to Electrek's latest report, Elon Musk shared his opinion regarding the worth of Tesla in a new interview.
The YouTube channel "Tesla Owners Silicon Valley" is the one that specifically conducted the interview with the tech CEO, generating more than 80,000 views and 4,000 likes.
He said that if they can't make FSD a perfect self-driving system, then his EV company will be worthless overall.
"The overwhelming focus is on solving full self-driving. That's essential. It's really the difference between Tesla being worth a lot of money or worth basically zero," said the billionaire.
Of course, Musk is quite confident that they will be able to perfect the advanced Tesla FSD, considered the top self-driving system in the autonomous market.
