Porsche is bringing in a new special edition 911 GTS for the country, under the "America Edition" trim that aims to debut a new car exclusive to the United States. The 911 GTS America Edition is a celebration of Porsche's debut of the vehicle in the US, focusing on the 70 years it has been available in the country and patronized by its citizens.
Porsche's 911 Carrera GTS Cabriolet America Edition
According to a news release by Porsche, a new 911 Carrera GTS Cabriolet is coming, under the particular name, "America Edition," that looks into a modern take on a past vehicle. The 1953 release of the 356 America Roadster and 30 years since the 964 America Roadster that the German car company brought to the country.
The 911 Carrera GTS Cabriolet is an internal combustion engine car using a twin-turbocharged three-liter flat-six engine, under its famous Boxer engine technology, that generates 570 Nm of torque. It is one powerful engine and vehicle, and it gets a signature America Edition color with the Azureblue356 that was first released with the 356 America Roadster.
It also brings a top-down roof that mimics the old Roadster.
Porsche's 70 Years in America: A Lookback
According to CNET, Porsche's US journey began in the 1950s, when the company first sold cars in the country and was inspired to make a more affordable vehicle for the region. It brought the 356 America Roadster with only 16 units sold on its debut.
Since then, Porsche has become a massive name in the country, and the German company has supplied the US with its vehicles.
The new Porsche 911 Carrera GTS Cabriolet America Edition is coming by late 2022 as the 2023 model of the vehicle.
