Telegram Premium is now confirmed, officially launching late this month, no less than its founder, Pavel Durov, confirmed.
Despite the arrival of the paid Premium tier of Telegram, the founder of the privacy-focused messaging service promises that its free users should not worry about it.
Telegram Premium Confirmed
The new paid subscription service of Telegram has been the center of rumors and leaks in the past few months.
In fact, earlier reports have already listed some of its predicted features. It includes new cute stickers and fancy reactions, which are reportedly exclusive to its paying users.
However, the founder of Telegram has yet to confirm such a specific Premium tier back then. But he hinted that the messaging app is working to make money off its service.
But this time, as per a news story by Tech Crunch, the CEO, and founder himself has spoken, disclosing to the public in a recent post on his Telegram channel that the higher tier option is debuting this month.
Durov said that the Telegram Premium is formally launching this June. The founder of the messaging app described its new paid tier as "a subscription plan that allows anyone to acquire additional features, speed, and resources."
Telegram Premium: Here's Why it is Launching
Durov was also generous enough to explain on his Telegram channel why he and his team decided to include a new paid option.
The CEO admits that the privacy-focused service draws some limits on its file and media upload and chat functions. But he boasts that what their app offers is "unrivaled" by other giant counterpart apps out there.
But even with its high limits on these services, the Telegram founder says that some users are asking for more.
Durov says going beyond the current limits of media uploads and chat features would end up ruining the messaging app. He shared that: "our server and traffic costs would have become unmanageable."
Telegram Premium: What to Expect
That's where the all-new Telegram Premium service comes in.
The new paid tier expands the current limits of the free offering, allowing its users to send larger-sized files, according to the latest report by Android Central. Not to mention that the subscription option also introduces new chat reactions.
On top of that, Durov states that Premium users are getting new features before free users get their hands on it. But these functions are also reaching the non-paying folks later on.
Telegram Premium Pricing
The Telegram boss has yet to spill the pricing details of the new Premium tier. Perhaps the CEO is saving it for its much-awaited launch by the end of the month.
