It is high time that people are fully familiar with the interface and operating system they own, so they can fully utilize their devices, especially with the changing trends now. Apple released the new version of its operating system for the smartphone devices it owns, and the iOS 16 brings a feature-packed release that utilizes many of its apps available now.
With all that said, let's dive right into what made this release a special one for iPhone users.
Apple iOS 16: New Features that Came in the WWDC 22
Apple revealed the iOS 16 on the first day of the WWDC 22 showcase, but note that this is not yet the release date of the operating system. It would come later in the year and prepare users for the change, with a beta seed coming in several weeks to come, with Apple not yet revealing the dates for its arrival.
The initial name for the iOS 16 is "Sydney," and many were expecting it for this event.
Lock Screen
The iOS 16's unseen feature for its release is the Lock Screen that users can now personalize to their style, aesthetic, and preference that will have it appear to what appeals more to them.
Users can now change their lock screen and choose from the new fonts and designs they wish to bring, also allowing people to put in Widgets, Live Activities, and other elements that would make it their own.
It may also integrate with Focus to show only their preferred essential notifications that will help in their access, rolling from the bottom instead of from the top. Multiple lock screens also help in switching from one look to another.
Focus
Focus gets a spotlight in this update, and Apple is ensuring people that they may utilize more of the device by choosing the essentials that would appear from time to time, and integrate with other apps. Users may now choose what apps to showcase and appear on the lock screen or widgets.
Messages
Users may now send or unsend a text via the Message application, and it would help in removing the clutter of any typographical error or removing unintended sends from delivering to others. Those that "butt text" or have mistyped words sent will all be prevented.
The iOS 16 also allows to recover deleted messages for a time, and the use SharePlay in the app.
iCloud Shared Photo Library for Family
An iCloud account for the whole family? No, this new update to iCloud's Shared Photo Library will be available for the family and other users as part of the feature. Apple brings a new update to its iCloud feature that will help collaborate on a single file system for different accounts, saving memories in one place.
Other Features
The iOS 16 is a massive release despite not changing a lot for its interface and looks, with new tools for Mail, Live Text for Photos, Apple Pay updates for Wallet, CarPlay, Safari, Maps, Siri, and more.
