Microsoft recently added new improvements to the Teams app. The new changes are focused more on the messaging side.
Microsoft Teams Receives New Improvements
Nowadays, the power of video conferencing apps is beyond the limit. Microsoft Teams has all the tools you want to use for video meetings from setting up a virtual meeting to taking advantage of the messaging features.
While it's a good application for the online setup, some people prefer not to use it because its file size is too big. Aside from that, it consumes more CPU and energy.
According to ZDNet, the Redmond tech firm has previously hinted that it's working with the new features for Teams. You might already have heard about the so-called "Teams 2.0" last year.
At the time, Microsoft introduced the desktop app for Teams on Mac. The WebView 2 was also a part of the changes that shaped the software for the past year.
"Investments have included transitioning from Angular framework to React, upgrading Electron (a framework for building desktop applications), reducing re-rendering, and making incremental improvements to the code," Mark Longton, a group program manager on Office 365 Microsoft Teams, said.
Longton added that the newly-improved Teams now featured "foundational improvements."
To even make it better, the company collaborated with its meeting teams to optimize the code. From here, the firm is aware that these changes are all important to bring a more optimized user experience to the platform.

What Are These Improvements
Speaking of its performance, Microsoft compared the desktop performance of the app with the August 2021 version. The company noted that there was a latency decrease and reduced lag during video calls.
Regarding latency, Microsoft said that an 11.4% was exhibited for the latency that users experience when scrolling on the chat list. Over the channel list, it improved to 12.1%.
Apart from that, there was a faster loading for the composed message accounting for 63%. Whenever you switch a channel, you will notice that the page quickly loads better than before.
Switching between chat threads has paved the way for a 3.1% improvement, while doing the same thing in the activity feed showed a 17.4% improvement.
Other than that, there was a 16% reduction in lag if the user switches between mute and unmute audio.
If you test Microsoft Teams now, you could already feel the difference from the previous version. Langton said that the overall user experience is way better this time.
With that in mind, the company has proven that it could bring satisfaction to the users through these changes.
Last month, Fast Company reported that Microsoft has finally introduced the Live Share option for the Teams app. The company highlighted the steps you need to do to integrate this option.
First, you need to add the Team's Client SDK to start the app. Then, add the Live Share SDK and make the TeamsFluidClient. Once you're done with this, add the data structures you want to include.
Finally, join the newly created container and update the Teams to begin the interaction with the objects inside the container.
