Google's Third Unreleased Phone Now Up for Sale: Pixel 6a

The third unreleased phone by Google has been spotted for sale online. The Pixel 6a was found selling at a discount despite not yet officially launching.

Google's Pixel 6a Spotted Online Before Its Release

According to the story by Android Police, Google is still struggling with keeping its Pixel phones a secret. Unlike Apple, which usually does a better job at leaving out all the important details of its iPhones until the company itself officially announces it, another Pixel phone has been unveiled ahead of its launch.

Just recently, the Pixel 7 was found on eBay for sale before it was pulled down. Another product, the Pixel 7 Pro, was also found online for sale weeks prior to its launch on Facebook Marketplace.

Pixel 6a Spotted for Sale on Facebook Marketplace

Just recently, the third unreleased phone, the Pixel 6a, was also spotted online for sale on the Facebook Marketplace again. The source, Nils Ahrensmeier, stated that they found the Google Pixel 6a on Facebook Marketplace posted by someone from Malaysia trying to sell the device.

The person that posted the Pixel 6a was reportedly the same person that posted an early unboxing video of the device on TikTok, which was also uploaded to YouTube. This was stated due to the matching usernames of the user that posted the Pixel 6a content.

Pixel 6a Spotted Selling for $524 USD

The Pixel 6a held a price of $524 USD before it was taken down. High-quality photos, however, already started to circulate as a result of the posting. The photos showed its back holding the signature "G" symbol of Google.

As per the device ID screen, the phone was made in Vietnam. There is still no confirmation, however, as to whether the phone was legitimately manufactured by Google or manufactured on the black market and made its way to Malaysia.

Google Pixel 6a Up for Pre-Orders This July 21

Although the post was taken down, fans won't have much to fear since the product is expected to be open for pre-ordering by July 21. This means that for fans that don't want to risk buying an inauthentic Pixel 6a from the black market, it might be better to wait for pre-ordering to start.

One major risk that could happen to buyers that want to get the Google smartphone early is purchasing a fake version of the product. This means that although the hardware could look the same, its specs, chipsets, or operating systems could be something completely different.

In order to avoid purchasing fake Pixel products, it is recommended that buyers only buy the Google phones from either official retailers or from the official Google store itself.
