The Epic Games Store has been well known for its weekly "mystery" free games, but now, a theory suggests that this could all be coming to an end. As per the theory, gamers will now only have until June 16 to claim the free games.
Epic Games Store Could End Its Free Games on June 16
According to the story by Game Rant, Epic Games could be ending its Epic Mega sale by June 16, which could see the top of the platform offering free games. Another batch of free games, however, is expected to launch on June 9.
Epic Games is well known for providing its users with promos, deals, and even free games on its platform. Aside from a way to market, the platform also does this to keep current users engaged and still involved with the platform.
Free Games Could Stop When Epic MEGA Sale Ends as Well
As some would expect, however, this type of free game might not last forever. While some games are essentially free to play by nature, like "Fortnite" or "Genshin Impact," which make money through in-game purchases, other games were basically listed for free for a limited amount of time.
Although not explained, the article says that a theory suggests that the Epic Games Store free games spree will be coming to an end on June 16. The end of the free games is expected to coincide with the Epic MEGA sale's end as well.
How Gamers and Games Benefited from the Free Games
Luckily, this might not mean that Epic Games Store won't be releasing games for free every once in a while. As per Game Rant, fans will still potentially have two or more "free mystery titles between now and then."
Although some gamers don't mind paying for games, others are more frugal and would rather wait for either a discount or a freebie to try a certain title. Some games even saw a rise in popularity since they put their games up for sale at a discount.

Mega Sale 2022 Could See 25% Off on Certain Titles
As per the website, the Mega Sale 2022 could allow gamers to save an additional 25% on certain titles. This offer, however, is only valid for certain titles or purchases that cost either $14.99 or more.
Epic Games, however, hasn't released an official statement regarding whether or not it will be ending free games on its platform. As per Game Rant, the company has not given them any confirmation and that there is a good reason why "perhaps they shouldn't."
It also should be noted that the platform might never release an official statement regarding their decision as well, so gamers should just be ready just in case they will no longer be able to enjoy Epic Games free games later on. There is also no confirmation as to whether the platform will permanently stop offering free games in the future.
