SpaceX Starlink Users Nearly Hits 500,000, Elon Musk Says

SpaceX Starlink satellite internet users are nearly hitting a monumental milestone in terms of the number of its subscribers, CEO and founder Elon Musk said in a recent meeting.

The mega-rich tech entrepreneur Musk recently had a meeting with the employees of his space exploration firm, wherein he boasted about their current achievements in figures.

For some reason, the SpaceX CEO decided to share his slide deck during the recent meeting on his official Twitter account, giving the public an idea of what was talked about during the internal talk.

SpaceX Starlink Users

One of the key points in the SpaceX deck of Musk notably gives us an update on the subscription number of the satellite internet service of the tech billionaire, as per a news story by Tesla North.

SpaceX's Starlink is gradually rolling out to users as it continues to expand its satellite constellation in orbit.

The satellite internet service seeks to provide its customers with a low-latency wireless connection, which best suits users based in rural and remote places.

However, the service is also available in urban areas, giving them an alternative internet connection, apart from the wired and 5G options.

According to a report by Forbes, the SpaceX CEO previously hinted that users of Starlink have already reached more than a whopping 250,000. Musk specifically said last Feb. 5 that there are more than 250,000 Starlink user terminals.

Forbes did the math back then, suggesting that the satellite internet business of the wealthiest man on Earth is roughly at a staggering $300 million per year.

But these figures were from early this year. Now that we are nearing the half of 2022, the users of Starlink, Musk says, have impressively almost doubled.

Starlink Users: Nearly 500,000?

The slide deck during the SpaceX meeting disclosed that the total users of the Starlink internet service are close to half a million.

On top of that, Musk also revealed during the all-hands meeting that Starlink has already reached the shores of up to 32 countries across the globe. Not to mention that it is now available in locations wherein people speak nine varying languages.

The billionaire tech exec also boasted that Starlink delivered roughly 15,000 Starlink satellites to Ukraine amid its conflict with the largest nation in the world, no less than Russia.

That's not all. The deck also showcased a few renders of the all-new V2.0 Starlink satellites, which should roll out anytime soon.
