Alibaba is no stranger to weird products like an EV submarine that was found selling for $8,000. Now, another weird vehicle was spotted. This time, it costs $2,300 and packs everything a car needs, except the rear.
New Weird Vehicle Spotted on Alibaba Without a Rear
According to the story by Electrek, Alibaba, the largest online shopping site in China, is usually no stranger to offering weird products. The publication cited different findings, including funny-looking electric vehicles for either the sea or land.
Although some of the previous products found were considered weird due to what they added on, a new electric vehicle was considered weird due to what the EV took out. The latest edition to the weird Alibaba EVs includes an electric vehicle without a rear.
Four-Wheeled Vehicle Has Important Components at the Front
The electric four-wheel vehicle still had an engine located in the front, a tank that was also located in the front, and most of the needed electronics that were still located in the front. What are missing are the doors and everything most vehicles have in their rear.
The vehicle covering stretched from the front to the top without any doors or covering on the side. The EV showed a lot of resemblance to a golf cart, which also doesn't have any side coverings.
The Weird Alibaba EV is Still Considered a Golf Cart
To be fair, its title listing also called the product an "Electric 4 Wheel vehicle sightseeing electric golf cart car for home use." Despite the four-wheeler being described as an electric golf cart, its pictures show vehicles driving and parking on regular roads or parking spaces.
As per its Alibaba listing, the EV is a three-seater that works with left steering and can be used for passenger transportation. The vehicle also won't need users to know how to drive a stick shift since the vehicle's gearbox is automatic.
Alibaba EV Goes 10 Mph Past Golf Cart Top Speed
When it comes to battery power, giving the four-wheeler six to eight hours of charging would result in 60 to 100kms or about 37 to 62 miles. Regarding how fast the vehicle can go, drivers won't be able to speed down the road since the four-wheeler is only capable of 25mph which is still more than the average 8-15mph on regular golf carts as per The Golf News Net.
Due to it being open, the top speed of 25mph will allow drivers and passengers to experience less airstream around them when driving down the road. As per Engadget, although the car might not match a town setting, it still has potential in an island community.
One major problem drivers might experience with this weird Alibaba vehicle is when it rains. Due to the car being open on all three sides except the front, there isn't much way to protect the driver and passengers from pouring rain coming from all sides.
