Garmin announced its new line of watches today, with the Garmin 255 and 955 under the company's "Forerunner" series. Previously, these watches were better known for their use in fitness needs, but since the integration of smartwatches into the public's lives, Garmin also shifted towards the market.

However, the main act of this report is the Garmin 955 Forerunner Solar, a device that does not run on a battery or a charge, instead from solar power that is put on the device. At first glance, the smartwatch looks like any other device, but it can draw power from the most significant and potent source.

No Need for Wire Chargers, Battery Replacement

Set aside your wire chargers and change the batteries at certain times, as Garmin's 955 Forerunner runs on solar power, and it also gathers charge when you are running. The device can go 20 days under its smartwatch mode and 49 hours in GPS mode on its solar charge.

Garmin said that a three-hour exposure to sunlight would be enough for the 20-day charge from solar power.

The device is available for $599.99 for the 995 Forerunner Solar.

Garmin and its Smartwatches

Garmin is a famous company that brings an array of smartwatches for everyone to use, with the company beginning with fitness timepieces that help in daily workouts and body monitoring. Activities are more fun now with the dawn of smartwatches from Garmin, Fitbit, the Apple Watch, the Samsung Galaxy Watch, and more.

Runners get the most out of smartwatches as they pack in the power and performance of a smartphone, with many apps and features already available in the device itself. Two of the features of Garmin are the built-in microphone and speaker that would help in taking calls right through one's wrist, without the need for bringing out a phone.

The company prides itself on the many features it brings for the device, and there are multiple offers by Garmin for whatever purpose that users may focus on for their use. Garmin borders on exercise and fitness watch, but that does not shy them away from bringing extensive features and its connection to smartphones for the public.
