"Pokemon Scarlet & Violet," the upcoming mainline Pokemon game, is reportedly coming this Nov. 18 on Nintendo Switch, the Pokemon Company confirms.
Alongside the announcement about its launch, the second trailer for the Generation 9 title is already available for viewing. There are many changes to look forward to in this game, including the new Pokemons and legendaries.
'Pokemon Scarlet & Violet' Trailer
As per Techcrunch, the Pokemon Company unveils the newest trailer for the most anticipated Pokemon video game to date. According to the source, the upcoming title will be the first open-world RPG that will be released in the franchise.
To note, "Pokemon Legends: Arceus," the latest title to launch this year, is not really an open-world game.
However, its new mechanics have taken the community by the storm, which increases the hype even more for the upcoming ninth-gen Pokemon game.
Speaking of the new stuff in the game, the trailer unveils that a four-player functionality will be coming soon. This multi-player might allow players to trade and battle with each other, but it still remains vague at the moment.
There are also two professors in the game. If you choose "Pokemon Violet," you will get in touch with Turo. On the other hand, Sada will be your mentor in "Pokemon Scarlet."
As of the moment, we only know that Sprigatito (grass), Quaxly (water), and Fuecoco (fire) will be the starters for the new Spanish region. However, their evolution entries are not yet introduced.
Some of the New Pokemon
The trailer also reveals new Pokemon, including the cute pig named Lechonk, which quickly becomes a fan favorite. Other fresh faces in the game include olive Pokemon Smoliv and electric mouse Pawmi. The latter resembles a mix of Teddiursa and Pikachu (in terms of lightning cheeks).
The most surprising entry in the trailer is the appearance of the two new legendary Pokemon: Miraidon and Koraidon will be the new powerhouse beasts for the upcoming "Pokemon Scarlet and Violet."
Possible Types of Starters
In other news, Gamerant reports that a reliable Pokemon leaker hinted at the potential type for the three new starters. Since the first trailer came out, many fans speculated about their secondary types, but still, no news came out from the Pokemon Company about it.
Still, many leaks have left the community guessing about the types of the Gen 9 starters. According to Riddler Khu's latest riddle, Sprigatito could be a Grass/Dark Type.
Meanwhile, Quaxly will become a Water/Fighting Type, while Fuecoco will transform into a Fire/Ghost Pokemon. This assumption is heavily inspired by the "Legends: Arceus" starters.
For now, we need to wait for some announcements regarding the game. It is expected that the Pokemon Company will gradually release some news as "Pokemon Scarlet and Violet" nears its launch.
