Ukrainian rap group Kalush Orchestra has raised $900,000 to help the country on its current issue.
The 2022 Eurovision song contest winner has auctioned its trophy to a well-known cryptocurrency platform so they could provide drone systems to the soldiers.
Eurovision Champ is Helping Ukrainian Soldiers
For those unfamiliar with the group, Kalush Orchestra, a rising group of singers based in Ukraine, has come up with a brilliant idea to help their people with the ongoing crisis.
The band sealed the deal in the recent Eurovision contest when they played their hit song "Stefania." The song caught the hearts of many fans who both support the group and Ukraine.
According to Bloomberg, the crypto exchange platform Whitebit has successfully bought the crystal mic trophy that the group won.
When the auction ended, Kalush Orchestra was able to collect $900,000 as a reward. Aside from that, Whitebit also purchased the NFT version of the Eurovision crystal microphone.
In a post by Oleh Psiuk, the frontman of the band, they wanted to raise €1 million for a cause -- purchasing three PD-2 drone systems that will help the Ukrainian soldiers.
"Our auction has gotten so big. There are hundreds of people offering to help with distribution, donations, and organizational issues! Ukrainians are cool," Oleh wrote in Ukrainian on his official IG account.
As of writing, the auction has already generated over €1.12 million or $1.2 million.

Kalush Auctions Pink Bucket Hat For Additional Donation
In a separate report by Fortune, Psiuk held another auction that's different from the previous one with Whitehat. This time, the Kalush Orchestra frontman has placed his iconic pink bucket hat to the bidders.
According to him, he was able to raise $370,000 for this event. The winner of the item reportedly hails from the Czech Republic.
For the selection of the lucky winner, Psiuk randomly chose the unnamed winner from a pool of individuals who donated to the event.
At the time, the biggest amount from a single donor had reached nearly $2,200. All the proceeds from the auction will be heading to a charitable organization headed by Serhiy Prytula, a famous television personality from Ukraine.
The organization is also helping the country when it comes to supplying military tools to the armed forces. Prytula acknowledged what Kalush did for Ukraine. He said that the Eurovision trophy now belongs to the crypto community.
While many fundraising sites for Ukraine have been approved, some platforms have suspended them. For instance, Patreon had taken down a website related to Ukraine.
Tech Times reported that the site has been collecting donations for the soldiers. The charity behind this fundraiser said that they were donating body armor and medical supplies to the armies.
