Tonight marks the return of The CW's The Flash, and there is a lot of speculation about what's going to happen through the rest of the series' first season.
So what's going to happen? The series' stars, writers and producers have revealed a lot of details recently, so here's what we can expect in future episodes.
Reverse Flash is Harrison Wells and will play a significant role in the season finale.
Reverse Flash put in an appearance before the mid-season break, and although the Internet was rife with rumors about who wore that yellow suit, Tom Cavanagh, who portrays Harrison Wells on the series, finally confirmed that it was him.
That iconic yellow suit is front and center, too, in newly released concept art from The Flash's visual artist John Gallagher.
But wait, there's more. Because Andrew Kreisberg, the series' executive producer, recently hinted that Wells' Reverse Flash isn't the one responsible for the death of Barry Allen's mother. Yes, that's right, there could be two versions of that character.
Whatever the case, Grant Gustin, the actor behind The Flash, aka Barry Allen, states that what we learn about Reverse Flash will surprise us.
"There's a big twist that even surprised me. I've seen all the predictions online," says Gustin. "No one has predicted the big twist that's coming at the end of this season."
Barry and Iris share a kiss.
Fans of the Barry/Iris romance in The Flash comics are in for a real treat this season. Just Jared recently snapped photos of the two characters on set involved in a lip lock. On the series, Barry recently confessed his lifelong love to Iris, which didn't go over well as she has a boyfriend, but it seems that this romance could finally happen.
The Flash faces a variety of new supervillains.
The Flash wouldn't be a superhero without super villains to fight, and future episodes are going to bring quite a few Barry's way. Not only will we see Mark Hamill reprise his role as The Trickster (he played the role in the 1990s Flash), but there will also be a copycat Trickster threatening Central City.
As if that weren't enough, Barry will also face Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller), Heat Wave (Andy Mientus) and Pied Piper (Britne Oldford).
Barry gets help from Firestorm.
Last season saw the reveal of Firestorm, otherwise known as Caitlin's ex-fiancé Ronnie Raymond (Robbie Amell). So far, it seems he's one of the good guys, so we can assume that he'll be helping Barry out in Central City while all these new super villains run amok. We'll also see a few episodes dealing with the mysteries of Firestorm.
"Episode 13 is called 'The Nuclear Man,' and we have Victor Garber and Robbie Amell in that episode, so you're going to get a lot of the answers of what happened to Ronnie the night of the explosion," says Kreisberg. "Even episodes 10, 11, and 12 have bits of the puzzle to figuring out the secret behind Firestorm, and then General Eiling, played by Clancy Brown, shows up because Firestorm is his new target."
Finally, we've also seen our first look at Firestorm's costume.
