Boeing Starliner Test Flight is a Success! Only Rosie, the Rocketeer Mannequin, Was Onboard

The latest Boeing Starliner test spaceflight is a success! This means that NASA's new astronaut taxi will soon be ready enough to deliver humans to the International Space Station.

The American multinational rocket developer's advanced crew taxi re-entered the Earth's atmosphere after its six-day ISS mission.

Boeing's Starliner rocket touched down at the White Sands Space Harbor at the U.S. Army's White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico on Wednesday, May 25, at exactly 4:49 p.m. MDT.

Since the rocket manufacturer's test flight was a success, Forbes reported that the advanced Boeing Starliner space taxi is almost complete.

According to KSAT's latest report, Boeing's Starliner capsule was able to make a quick return after detaching from the giant space laboratory.

In just four hours after leaving ISS, Starliner was able to make its successful Earth re-entry. Officials of NASA and Boeing shared their excitement for the latest spaceflight test.

NASA's Commercial Crew Program Director Steve Stich said that the Starliner uncrewed launch was an "extremely successful" one, claiming that all the objectives were met by Boeing's rocket.

"On a scale of one to 10, I think I'd give it a 15," shared Boeing Vice President Mark Nappi. As of writing, the new space taxi of NASA only delivered the mannequin called "Rosie the Rocketeer" to the International Space Station.

But, this is expected to change soon, with Starliner delivering real astronauts into outer space this coming March 2023.

What is Rosie the Rocketeer?

NASA's official blog post explained that Rosie the Rocketeer is an anthropometric test device used in Boeing's Starliner test flight.

It is integrated with 15 sensors to collect essential data during space launches. This means that it can provide some information about the things that astronauts can experience once onboard Boeing's Starliner.

Meanwhile, experts said that NASA solar sails could enhance space missions.

On the other hand, the James Webb Space Telescope is now tracking space objects.
