iOS 15.5 Update: Apple Account Card Now Available for Wallet App

Apple just released the newest iOS 15.5 update and it came with a lot of new features, including an Apple Account Card that is now available for the users' Wallet App. The new Apple Account Card will replace the previous iTunes Pass.

Apple iOS 15.5 Update to Wallet App: Introducing the Apple Account Card

According to the story by 9to5Mac, one of the major updates that the iOS 15.5 brings is for the Wallet app. The update will officially change the iTunes Pass to the Apple Account Card.

As per the publication, Apple released no official notes regarding the iOS 15.5 Apple Account Card update. The feature, however, is already up and running for those using the latest operating system and can be seen through the Wallet app, as also noted by Apple Insider.

Apple Account Card No Longer Uses QR Code

The iTunes Pass, which is now replaced by the Apple Account Card, is something that can be added to the Wallet app by users in order for them to freely check the balance of their Apple ID. The app also included a QR Code that can be used in Apple Retail Stores to buy different products.

The new changes will allow customers to "use their Apple ID balance as a regular Apple Pay card with the Apple Account Card" instead of previously using a pass. Through the new method, users will no longer have to show their QR code and instead just use Apple Pay when purchasing anything from an Apple Store.

Apple ID Balance Much Easier to Access with New Update

For the remaining balance, users are still free to purchase apps, and movies, and basically subscribe to any Apple services. It was noted that the account balance can also be used to purchase products, accessories, or games with Apple Pay.

The Apple Account Card also includes one benefit that can be useful to users monitoring their accounts. With the Apple Account Card update, users will be able to access their Apple ID balance much easier.

Apple Account Card to Roll Out with iOS 15.5 Update

Unlike the iTunes Pass, the Apple Account Card shows up directly on the Wallet app. Users previously had to add the iTunes Pass to their Wallet app manually.

Now, all users have to do is click on the "+" button in order to add the Apple Account Card. In order to finish the setup, users will have to simply click on "Add Apple Account."

It is important to note, however, that the feature is only visible for those that have balance in their Apple ID available. As per 9to5Mac, the feature might not be available to everyone just yet as it is still manually rolling out to users that have updated their operating system to the iOS 15.5
