The founder and former long-running CEO, Jack Dorsey, already announced that he is exiting the Twitter Board of Directors at a meeting last Wednesday, May 25. The move is expected of the former executive. Still, expectations point out until the end of 2022 for the executive to vacate his position, especially as the company has a pending sale.
Jack Dorsey Officially Leaves the Twitter Board of Directors
Jack Dorsey is no longer a part of the Twitter Board of Directors, and the former executive made it official at its latest shareholder's meeting last Wednesday. Here, the executives talked about many things regarding Twitter's ventures; one is also about Twitter's sale to Elon Musk, who is still preventing the deal from pushing through.
According to a report by CNet, Dorsey's departure from Twitter was somewhat done last November 2021 when he transferred the role of CEO to Parag Agrawal. The executive distanced himself from Twitter by taking on a less current or active part in the company and entrusting the top position to another person to lead it.

Dorsey Left Before Finalizing the Musk Sale
It is widely known that Dorsey already left Twitter before the company finalized or secured the Musk sale that will make the company privately owned again after some time. Instead of seeing through what will happen on Twitter, Dorsey has already left the company and will focus on his ventures instead of his former company.
Dorsey is Focusing on Block
The former Twitter CEO and one of its founders, Jack Dorsey, previously provided a platform that gave the public a so-called "online diary" where they could share their thoughts in real-time. Twitter made the internet centralized, says Dorsey, and he apologized for it as it was not meant to be that way.
Now, there are efforts to decentralize the internet, with Twitter leading it again, with Elon Musk.
Apart from his focus on Twitter, Dorsey also has another priority in his venture, and it is with a company formerly known as Square. Now called "Block," it focuses on everything cryptocurrency and NFT, as the online blockchain wallet has the capability of storing the digital currency and making it available whenever it is needed.
Dorsey is a massive fan of cryptocurrency and the digital blockchain, with the executive supporting the cause.
The former Twitter CEO previously hosted and became a guest speaker at Bitcoin conferences, and here together with Elon Musk, they brought out their insights on the industry. Yes, it is an end of an era for Dorsey and Twitter, but this is inevitable as he already stepped down from the CEO position, meaning he wants to distance himself from the company, which is now already official.
