Electronic Arts (EA) and The Sims' developer, Maxis are introducing an inclusivity feature on The Sims 4.
Players will now be able to customize their pronouns for their Sims. In 'Create-A-Sim,' players can choose from preset pronouns: she/her, he/him or they/them. They can also input custom pronouns for their Sims.
However, players who choose to input their custom pronouns will need to go through some more work because it will ask them to input different forms, such as subjective, objective, possessive, and more.
The pronoun options for The Sims 4 are only available in English for now, but there are plans to expand it to all 18 languages.

This new feature has been fully tested, but players may still encounter some glitches like incorrect conjugations or the wrong pronoun showing up. Players are encouraged to flag and report these issues.
"While this update isn't the be-all end-all representation of nonbinary and other gender diverse folks, we strongly feel that it's important for us to approach better inclusivity over time as we figure out ways to work within the limitations of our code," John Faciane, The Sims 4 producer said.
The Move to Gender Diversity
Since the release of The Sims 4 in 2014, Maxis has already loosened gender restrictions as it enables players to choose whether their Sims wears masculine or feminine clothing, has a certain body type, or can get pregnant regardless of their initial gender selection.
The developer collaborated with LGBTQ advocacy groups It Gets Better Project and GLAAD on how they can better incorporate the feature.
Faciane wrote about their partnership with LGBTQ organizations and the details of the update.
Continuous Updates & Expansions
EA and Maxis have always supported the game with updates and expansion packs. Furthermore, The Sims also has a thriving modding community, and just in 2022, The Sims 4 was one of the 10 most-played games in the US.
Furthermore, it recently released The Moonlight Chic and Little Campers Kit to allow Sims to spice up their styles. The Moonlit Chic showcases Parisian-inspired evening looks, which were inspired by Parisian creator Paola Locatelli and the fashions of the youth today.
On the other hand, the Little Campers kit is reminiscent of the first game pack, Outdoor Retreat. It includes pretty strings of lights and an outdoor projector screen. This will also let children build a fort blanket where they can play outside and get cozy. The Kit will also include new toys and the ability to roast marshmallows.
Both Kits are now available for PC and Mac, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and X/S.
