BOE allegedly changed iPhone display specs without the consent of Apple. Of course, this disappointed the tech giant manufacturer.
Now, will this action affect the OLED supplier's iPhone 14 deal with Apple?
Some people who are familiar with BOE's works claim that the display manufacturer did change the iPhone 13 screens it produced in 2021.
They said that BOE did this as the displays it manufactured were failing to pass quality control checks. The issue with this action is that Apple didn't know that it made the display changes.
BOE Lowers iPhone Display Specs Without Apple's Consent
According to 9To5Mac's latest report, although BOE is one of the major display suppliers of Apple, it still falls third behind LG and Samsung.

Despite this, the tech firm still hopes that it will be able to produce up to 40 million iPhone screens before 2022 ends. One of its main targets is the new iPhone 14.
However, this goal is now uncertain since it is affected by the ongoing display driver chip shortage. Another problem is with quality control, which left BOE no choice but to degrade the specs of the iPhone displays.
Apple Unimpressed With BOE's Actions
TheElec reported that the Chinese display manufacturer sent a C-level executive, as well as some of its employees to talk to Apple regarding the incident.
They visited the iPhone maker's headquarters and confirmed that they changed the iPhone 13 screen's transistor circuit width.
The change specifically made the displays thicker than usual, which is expected to make production easier for BOE.
After that, the Chinese tech firm asked Apple for the iPhone 14 screen orders. However, the giant gadget maker did not provide any response.
As of writing, Apple hasn't confirmed if it will still allow BOE to make its iPhone 14 screens. If you want to see further details, you can visit this link.
On the other hand, some rumors claimed that the new Apple Mac Mini will not arrive this 2022.
Meanwhile, Apple India announced that consumers can no longer use debit and credit cards to make payments.
