Brave is releasing an update to its popular privacy-focused web browser on its iOS app. The new update will bring "Privacy Hub" with the goal of educating its users regarding privacy and tracking threats.
Brave Privacy Hub Feature Allows Users to Know How Much Data is Being Collected
According to the story by 9to5Mac, the new Brave iOS app update, the Privacy Hub, will be showing users a summary of just how much of their personal data is collected by the websites they visit. The information will be instantly available for users to see in order for them to know which websites track or collect their data the most.
The Privacy Hub is included in Brave's iOS version 1.38 which will also be adding a few other privacy and web safety features for users on the browser. In Brave's blog post, the new alerts from Privacy Hub will show users "trackers, fingerprinting attempts, and other bad stuff hidden on websites."
Privacy Hub Feature Shows Users Whetehr Their Data is Being Collected for Advertising Purposes
An example of this is how Privacy Hub can show whether or not a blocked tracker collects user data for advertising purposes. The information collected by the website can include the users' personal email address.
As per Brave's blog post, Privacy Hub will be assisting users by first educating them regarding trackers as well as other privacy threats. The feature highlights trackers and risky pages and ties the trackers directly to the companies and publishers that are using the data.
Brave to Improve Fingerprint Protection for Its iOS App
The feature will also show its users how their privacy is often being invaded by certain websites. The Privacy Hub was announced to be just one of the many features the new update will bring to Brave's web browser.
It was noted that Brave has also improved their fingerprinting protection on its iOS app in order to make it more difficult for users to be identified by trackers online. To add, the web browser will also be adding "randomization to fingerprintable APIs" in order to trick certain websites.

Certificate Viewer Feature Will Also be Available on iOS
The iOS app will also be featuring Certificate Viewer which is a feature that is currently available on Brave's web browser. The feature allows users to see whether or not the certificate of the webpage is valid or not along with other advanced info regarding the website.
The Brave Browser remains free for iOS and can be downloaded from the App Store itself. The browser can also be downloaded on the Brave website should users need a Windows, macOS, Linux and Android version.
The new Privacy Feature attempts to help users become more aware of the websites they visit and just how much of their personal information are they giving up. They will also be able to check the websites legitimacy and its certificates through Brave's update.
